Please plan to arrive 5 minutes before your session to allow for finding our address, parking and getting yourself ready. Sessions will start and finish as per your booking even if you are late. Sessions CAN'T be extended on the day, so please be mindful of timing.
My child is 'lively', what happens if they refuse to co-operate or throw a tantrum on the day?
As a parent myself, I totally get that you may worry about your toddler's willingness to participate in photographs. Remember, toddlers are naturally spontaneous and curious, which often leads to some of the most genuine and heartwarming moments captured on camera. I like to embrace their unique personality and let them be themselves; you'll be pleasantly surprised by beautiful images that emerge from their playful antics. I have a few tricks up my sleeves too!
What should I wear?!
When preparing for a studio photography session, it's important to choose outfits that complement your style while ensuring you feel comfortable. Opt for solid colors or subtle patterns, as they tend to photograph better than busy designs. Avoid clothing with logos or heavy graphics, which can be distracting. Some families like to wear outfits that are the same colour, or style, for example jeans and white t-shirts. Ultimately, wear something that makes you feel confident and reflects your personality.
If you have any questions, please get in touch - I am more than happy to help with your wardrobe choices.
I have a sentimental item that I would like to include in the photographs, is this possible?
Of course. From a family heirloom, to a cherished gift, or something that holds personal significance, these items can tell a story and evoke emotions that enhance your photographs. I can work with you before your session to discuss the best ways to incorporate your item.
Do I need to bring anything?
It's a good idea to bring any outfits or props you want to use, as well as personal items that reflect your style.
For newborn sessions, bring anything you need to change and feed your baby, including extra nappies AND EXTRA MILK (if you are bottle feeding or expressing). Being kept awake before the session, followed by a mini workout of posing, can make baby extra hungry so please always bring twice the amount of milk your baby would usually have – just in case!
If your baby uses a dummy, it’s great to help soothe them and keep them asleep in between poses, so please also bring it.
For Cake Smash sessions, please bring a towel and a change of clothes for your little one. You may want to bring a change of clothes for you as well if you think your bub is likely to cover you in cake too!
When should I book my Newborn Session?
I take on a limited number of newborn sessions each month to allow time, flexibility and care for every family. I recommend booking after your 20-week scan, at which point we’ll pencil in a provisional date for around a week after your due date. Once your little one arrives earthside, we’ll then confirm the session date together.
My baby has been born already, am I too late to book?
Not at all. Ideally our Newborn sessions take place between 5 and 10 days old, however as long as they are no older than 4 weeks we can still get some squishy photographs. This is because babies tend to be sleepier and more easily posed in the first few weeks, resulting in the adorable, curled-up images.
If your baby is older than 4 weeks, get in touch as we can organise a bespoke session for you that captures their emerging self.
What if my baby is born early?
These babies really do like to keep us on our toes! Please just reach out when your baby arrives and we will firm up your session.
What Cake Smash themes do you have?
We have over 30 themes available and these can be found in our Stock Room. If you have an idea for a theme that you can't see on our website, please send us a message and we can work together to bring your vision to life.
When should I book my Cake Smash for?
We recommend booking a Cake Smash a few months in advance. Some people prefer to have the photographs back in time for their little one's big day, whereas others prefer the session on their actual birthday. Totally up to you!
Do you provide dairy-free or vegan cakes?
Absolutely, we work with a fantastic local baker who can make your cake vegan, dairy free or gluten free at no additional cost.
Can my older sibling attend the session?
Of course! Our studio is a family-friendly setting, so your other children are welcome too. It is important to consider that they may get bored however... so please bring toys (and snacks!) to keep them entertained or consider a family member taking them to the park opposite our studio,
Remember to check your package if you would like them included in photographs.
Do you have toilets and baby changing facilities?
Yes and yes. There is a disabled friendly toilet on the same floor as the studio which also has baby changing facilities. Additionally you are welcome to change your child in our studio if you prefer.
Do you photograph animals?
We welcome well-behaved dogs, and assistance dogs, to sessions with prior agreement. We will, of course, make sure we have a water bowl available for them.
Do you have pictures of your different outfits?
Of course! All of our outfits are available to view in the Stock Room section of the website. We are really proud of our wardrobe and want you to feel excited and be able to plan for your session too. Drop us a message if you have any questions,

Do you travel?

Do you do headshots and individual sessions?
I do both and am more than happy to discuss your requirements with you and plan a bespoke package.
